I’ve read numerous blog posts, articles, etc. about being an independent musician. They say that, until you make it to the main stage, your focus should be strictly on music. That is, you should maximize the amount of time you spend making music, and minimize the amount of time you spend doing anything else, including eating, sleeping, maintaining relationships, and updating the website that showcases your music to the masses.

Case in point: Not long ago, Adobe released Flash Player 10. Cool. Now my Youtube videos will stop hanging, and I can enjoy them. BUT!! Now that FP10 is out, suddenly my original MP3 player doesn’t work. Apparently, the new Flash technology includes some security features that break compatibility with older media players based on it.

Long story short, I found another media player that works, but it’s less functional than my old player, so the website is in digital limbo–dimbo, if you will. The actual “Player” page works, but I have to go back and fix a few things around the site. And I really should be using this time to make some new ish for you to hear… This is why you outsource this crap.

But I do it for the love, so I guess I’ll keep doing it. Meanwhile, stay plugged in.
